Family Night: Ivy's Ice Cream Shoppe

We are up to the letter "I" with Emily and I wanted to do something ice cream related. I thought about going out - but thought of how much it would cost just for the four of us to do that. So, I decided we would do it at home for our family night!

I decorated the chalk board to look like an ice cream shop!
For dinner, we had chicken fingers and oven fries in these cute paper trays I found recently.

I made a plate of brownies...

... and a muffin tin of toppings ~

for Emily to create her own ice cream sundae:

It was a hit! I also cut a bunch of ivy from our yard and had that on the table!

Very creative! I can tell by grin on Emily's face that it was a huge success.

Lovely idea, Monica. What sweet, creative, loving things you are doing for your husband and children. I remember our oldest as a child asking, "Can we do something special?" You are doing that for your children on a regular basis! You are creating lasting memories for your dear ones. Desert Lady

That is such a cute idea! I love the drawing on your chalkboard. We don't go out very often, either, so I've tried to find ways to make our at home nights special.

Your little Emily looks so happy!

Wish I could have been there.
