Crayon Hearts

When I clean out the crayon box now and then, I save all the broken and little pieces of crayon and put them in a ziploc bag and stash them away.

So, when I saw this idea on Pinterest - I was ready to pull out all the broken crayons and get started! And, I knew these would be super fun to give to my little CC class for Valentine's Day!

Talk about extremely easy! And, a big wow factor - my kids LOVED these! Good thing I made extras! Thanks, Jen, for the heart mold!!!

I hadn't intended to "copy" the twine idea - but I could not figure out how to get my hearts to stay on paper! So, I threaded the bakers twine in a large embroidery needle and stitched them on!

I love these! We used to make them when the boys were little. Do you know where Jen got the heart mold? It is the exact shape we have been looking for... I know its weird but I really do like my "hearts" to be a certain shape. :)

Thank you for sharing this wonderful idea!

Those are so cute, Monica!! I wanted to do that for my daughter's class, but we don't seem to keep crayons and I couldn't find that mold at my Target. Boo...

I LOVE that these are all the same shades in each heart. The ones I've seen have always been all the colors all melted together. Those look pretty but they're hard to color with. Yours are perfect! Thanks!

Those turned out great, Monica! Way better than the rainbow ones I made last year, and yours were better received, too!

I so want to make these, but not sure if my kids would actually use them. Coloring has lost its magic with them, I fear.
We cleaned out the Sunday school supply cabinet at church today, and had access to MANY crayon nubs. And I was so tempted to buy a heart silicon pan at Walmart today. It was $3.50, but I would much prefer $1. What kind of mold did you use? Does that mean that you could only make one heart crayon at a time?
