Wedding Gift Idea

The girls and I had fun attending a wedding this past weekend and I thought it would be fun to show you what we came up with for a gift!

The bride had not registered and I only had a couple of days notice - so it was sort of a last minute brainstorm! I wish I'd had time to make something!

In the end, I scoured her home Pinterest boards and looked for the common elements: draped lights, wood and metal, open shelving and sort of a mix between bohemian and a coffee shop vibe!

A quick browse through TJMaxx produced these items:
- cutting board
- metal/wood basket
- Edison lights
- copper lid hobnail jar

To make it more personal, I added little tags to each item with a note and Scripture on the back:

* wood/metal basket: carry one another's burdens; Isaiah 10:27
* cutting board: serve one another; Mark 10:43-45
* jar: be filled by time with God; Mark 1:35
* lights {the string had ten lights on it}: ten lights for your home: from 1 Cor. 13 and Galatians 5

- the light of love
- the light of kindness
- the light of peace
- the light of patience
- the light of joy
- the light of humility
- the light of forgiveness
- the light of goodness
- the light of gentleness
- the light of truth

The wedding was in a charming tiny country church:

Later that night, Samuel and I enjoyed a little date at the drive-in movie:
