Celebrating Ten: Wildflowers, Quilts and Slow

We started Rachel's birthday day with a sweet porch picnic! I snipped wildflowers from the edge of the woods and a few flowers from the cutting garden near the house. I packed my little suitcase with a few party supplies to make our memories festive and Rachel picked out about half of what was included too!

After breakfast, we enjoyed staying in our pj's all morning and starting on Rachel's quilt! We got the entire front done before we stopped for a quick lunch and another movie! After a movie, we finished the back for the quilt and then enjoyed a picnic supper, some Chopped on Netflix and a game of Yahtzee finished off with a walk down the lane!

I found that great handmade quilt tucked in a closet of the cabin and it needed to be enjoyed! By the way, I let Rachel choose all our meals for the weekend - why is it my children choose frozen non-homemade food for their birthdays?! Perhaps because I don't buy it very often and it is a special treat?

What's the tiny cabin off from the picnic table?

Love everything about this birthday trip. The quilt the two of you made, the little touches you both chose to bring, the handmade quilt, the time to be together, everything! The cabin is just soooo darling. We are looking into a trip to NC.... :O) Thanks for sharing it with us.

Those flowers! That place is a combination of mountain cabin & English cottage.
