Truth Telling 3: God offers me eternal life.
Some promises in the Bible are conditional and require an action on our part. The very fact that God offers us eternal life requires nothing, we can't earn it or acquire it any other way than through receiving a free gift. But receive is a verb - it requires an action - we must accept it and bring it home with us to take up permanent residence and become part of our life.
John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:36, "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects he Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him."
John 4:13-14, "Jesus answered, 'Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.'"
John 5:24, "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life."
John 10:28, "I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand."
Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Ephesians 2:8-9, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast."
1 Timothy 6:12, "Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses."
Tell yourself this truth today: God offers me the free gift of eternal life, how will I respond to that offer?
