Friday was warm and lovely and spontaneously we hopped in the car, headed to the local feed and seed and spent hours in the garden!
I never really did much of an update on our Fall garden, we had a few tiny potatoes and the broccoli I started from seed has been growing for months and is now about to produce a harvest! It is exciting to see that happen in front of your eyes.
We planted potatoes, broccoli, lettuce and onions. I had to move my herbs outside because they were looking pretty pitiful indoors. So we'll see how that goes.
In January, we planted peas, lettuce, carrots and garlic and have a few things slowly coming up. The garlic is coming up the best - I've never planted any before. Does anyone have experience on how I know when to harvest?
It was satisfying to be tired at the end of the afternoon from the hard work outside and to see the cleaned out garden as a result of my labor. I look forward to watching God bless the earth and my humble efforts to nurture these living things in my own backyard.
My helpers got in on the photography and snapped a few photos too!
