Colorado Slow

Last batch before we get to the next part of our trip - vacations are lovely for having time to choose the slow parts of every day!

Colorado Slow: Chalk Art

These moments of chalk creativity were sort of captivating to me and truthfully, they still are! Look at how the opportunity to slow has sparked creativity! My kids have been into grinding chalk into powder, making pastel paints from chalk and also just drawing with chalk. They have drawn on sidewalks, driveways, rocks, porch railings, painted their hands with chalk paint and stamped hand and feet prints all over the sidewalk, and more!

A couple of slow lovely Colorado evenings made the perfect set up for chalk fun! You can get a good amount of chalk at the Dollar Tree and look at all the fun provided!

Colorado Slow: Bubbles

I love the stories in these photos - the anxiously careful oldest trying not to pop her big bubbles! The little brother trying to pop them all and even catching the thrown pink bottle mid-air as it pops a sisters huge bubble. How the bubble maker blows bubbles inside of a big bubble and capturing that moment. Roly Poly on growing fingers. Rachel's reflection in a bubble on the lush grass. The sky. If you look at the photo of the big bubble up close you can see the reflection of the house, me sitting on the porch taking the photo, my Dad standing next to me and the cute girl blowing the bubbles!

Here is my take away: bubbles are amazing, they are cheap and apparently a great source of slow entertainment on a lovely summer evening! Slow cultivates creativity!

Colorado Slow Part One

Little bits of slow interspersed here and there add up to one beautiful tapestry of slowing and sweet new memories!
