Creative Worship, Part Two

As I was considering what day would be best for our worship time, I noticed I was nearing the recording of gift 1000 as I've been recording 3 things a day since January first. Number 1000 landed on Slow Day {a gift in itself!} and that seemed a meaningful way to celebrate!

First, a little more beauty ~

We enjoyed breakfast of muffins and I read Luke 1-2 and part of Matthew where the wise men's journey was recorded. And, then we were ready to create! We listened to The Messiah during our creative time.

After all the drawing and coloring, I had a nativity set out, a set of nativity magnets and a set of nativity puppets. I told my children they could take turns while I made frosting for the next project! We read the book about Handel during lunch.

A clearance score from last year was a set of nativity cookie cutters - these turned out so fun!

It was a blessing to see young heads bent in play and drawing/coloring in worship. Just to have this concentrated special time is always so sweet - this year was noisier than years past! Once again, I am so glad we made time for this and am thankful for the new batch of memories to treasure!

Thank you for sharing your worship.

I don't want to hijack but would you consider sharing what is on your chalkboard. I am intrigued and always looking for new strategies to be more efficient.

Just wanted to leave a quick note to say your pictures are inspiring me to plan some time to color and create with my boys, twins age 7.

I have not read about George Handel. Is this a children's book? It is good that you expose your children to the classical music. We go to a concert each year in which a friend performs. It is very classical and not always in English. There are very few kids in attendance. I don't expect mine to enjoy every moment of it, but they need to develop an appreciation of the gifts God has given to the singers.
The nativity cookie cutters are a super find, even better that they were on clearance! Was that online or from a store? I would like to look for a set.

Amusing Redhead: we are part of Classical Conversations and each week I write our weekly memory work there so it is visible and reminds us to practice it! :) I love sharing about CC so if you want to know more - just email me :) thehomespunheart (at) hotmail (dot) com
