The Parable of the Easter Lily: A Giveaway
I recently received this book to review and share about here on my blog! The girls snatched it off of the kitchen counter and it disappeared! We love these parable books (pumpkin patch, pine tree and this one!)
You can see inside this book here. I had hoped to incorporate this into our Spring party including the planting of lilies - but maybe another year!
The lily stands for purity, virtue, innocence, hope and life!
If you'd like to be entered into the drawing for this book - please leave a comment sharing what your favorite symbol of Easter is, aside from the cross, and why. Comments will be open until Sunday night, April 15 at 10pm EST.
Disclosure: I received this book to review and share about here - Tommy Nelson is giving a second copy to one of you!

Lambs! They are so precious and cuddly, and "pure" like our Savior!
The empty tomb....if it wasn't for the resurrection, Christ's death would be like any other death! :-)

Daffodils have always been a sign of Easter for me. Growing up it seemed to be the flower blooming when it was Easter time. I associate it with new life.
Did you know this post scared me. I was all, "OH YES, I WAS SUPPOSED TO GIVE THIS AWAY TOO!" but then I checked and I already did.
I'm losing it, Monica. Scary... *grin*
I love Easter Lillies. I love the smell. Everytime i see and smell them they remind me of new life.

The empty tomb! Because I have a God who lives!
I love the use of palms the week before Easter. It is a symbol that we only use that one time a year (other than the ashes on Ash Wednesday) and the whole service just really brings home what is about to happen as lent draws to a close.
I love the pure white easter lilies. lindastoltzfus at gmail dot com
I like to use the butterfly
in the understanding of how the caterpillar changes to the butterfly so can we change when we accept god

This looks so good! We love Ms. Higgs' pumpkin patch book as well. :)
My favorite symbol, besides the cross and empty tomb? A butterfly- new life from death!
Thank you for this opportunity, Monica!
Hmm. That's a good question. Aside from the cross, I guess I would have to say a picture of an empty tomb.
Would love to win!
We love the lilies since they're so pure and special.
I love all the symbols in the Resurrection Eggs.
I recently listed to a Focus on the Family podcast about how the secular symbols (eggs, rabbits, etc.)became associated with Easter. Now I understand how we can use this symbols to lead others to the crucifixion story.
Lambs - as in, Lamb of God, Jesus being our final, perfect Passover lamb.
The empty tomb. We made resurrection cookies with our children this year and everyone loved it!

Hard to choose, but I do like the whole tradition of special breads being baked -- hot cross buns, and in my family, babka -- simple and the whole "rising" of the dough is very special to the season!
Neat book! I think I like all the flowers because they are symbols of new life.
Lambs for sure....symbols of Gods love for us....
