Hanging on His Word

I am continuing to so enjoy the new blog Beautifully Rooted and I also love contributor Annalea's blog as well. On a gray {my fave!} and sprinkly afternoon when I'm feeling a little under the weather as well - this is just the kind of project I can handle! When I don't feel good - creating is what I most want to do.

After scrounging around, I found one wooden pants hanger that I'm pretty sure used to belong to my father-in-law. It was an easy swap to hang the pair of pants on a plastic counter-part and bring this neat wooden hanger out for display.

Next, I had a stroke of inspiration to try and get my typewriter to work! It has a ribbon which is looooooong ago out of ink and replacement ribbons are difficult to find and pricey. I've had this lovely $5 Goodwill find for over a decade and never thought of this before today.

Brush markers. Yes, the kind you use to ink rubber stamps!

My neighbor recently gave me some she was cleaning out and it worked perfectly to brush on the ink and then type - I had to ink each letter, but was so pleased with the results that I didn't truly mind.

This verse has come to mind numerous times lately as it seems that a theme for me right now is waiting on the Lord.

I love the colors, the pearly pin, the lace and the wood all together. Charming! Simple! Beauty...

And, I hung it on a hook next to my bed hoping that its closeness will encourage, its beauty will catch my eye and remind me of its truth and that I will truly hang on His Word.

I really wanted to make a second one with a neat broken wooden ruler I came across as well. But am struggling with what I want to say on that one. I just finished reading Kisses From Katie and have frequently thought of her words that living in the US was so much easier that it did not create that reliance on the Lord like living in Uganda did. But, I haven't figured out flush that idea out into a few sentences. Or, there is the reminder of how He speaks in a gentle whisper which I long to remember ... obviously I'm still undecided on this one!

Are you hanging on His Word lately? In what way? Which words?

Looks nice. We have put Bilbleverses about communication in the house. Just on little papers. We have them in the kitchen, in the glass table, on the piano, etc. I made them in happy colors and we are asked about them a lot. Honestly I thought about removing them before getting people over: I did not want to 'show' my holiness ; ) Did not want to be special in that way. But we had them hang up for our own communication and not to show off, so my motivations were pure and I decided not to remove them. Well, people asked about them a lot and the result was that we had some very nice conversations about communication according the Bible and about Christian marriages. And there were a lot less conversations about other people in a negative way. So it really helps you te remember!
God bless you,

Annemieke

What a sweet way to hang scripture - love that idea! I am hanging onto Psalm 139. Trying to memorize it and really know it. It's always been one of my favorites.

Sooo pretty monica, Psalm 67 has been it for me lately. Asking blessings, for the purpose that I in turn can bless others!

I am "hanging" on Psalm 90:12. I LOVE the idea of the pants hanger! And I am so happy to see that your sweet sis commented as well. I have been soooo praying for her. In His Grip Always, Lynnebee

Psalm 34:19: "Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all."

"Say to those who are fearful-hearted
Be strong, do not fear!
Behold, your God will come with vengeance,
With the recompense of God;
He will come and save you."
