Giveaway: Putting God Back in the Holidays

I recently received a review copy of Putting God Back in the Holidays from Moody Publishers. And, I get to give one away as well!!

I've really enjoyed flipping through this book and exploring different sections. The book is divided into six basic sections: New Years, Birthdays, Good Friday and Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Other Holidays.

Each section can stand alone and you can use this as a great tool to reference the upcoming holidays in your own home. I also love that there is a section on spiritual birthdays!

I know that lots of you would really enjoy this book - wish I could give each of you one! But, if you would like to enter for the one copy that I can give away, please just leave a comment on this post.

Comments will be accepted until November 27 at 9pm.

Disclosure: I received two copies of Putting God Back in the Holidays from Moody Publishers to read and share about here. I will be mailing the winners copy to them, but it is provided courtesy of Moody. Opinion expressed is my own.

This would be such a great resource - I love ideas for making the holidays more God-centred. And I'd especially love to know more about highlighting spiritual birthdays. We just celebrated our younger son's first spiritual birthday - check out the idea here:

Hello Monica,

I absolutly love your blog! Though I live in the Netherlands (and some things work different here - for example we are 'struggeling' through Sinterklaas now, a festivity which can be compared with Santa Claus), I read your blog frequently and try to apply your ideas in a way that works for us. My main goal is to create a Christ-centered-home where grace, love and peace can be tasted. Your blog inspires me to do so. Thank you for sharing!

I would be very interested in the book, but I guess you can't sent a copy to the Netherlands?

May God bless you and your beautiful family!

I would LOVE to win a copy of this book! We are ALWAYS trying to down play the commercialism of holidays I think it's why THANKSGIVING is my favorite, we PRAISE God for all we have and HE provides and there are NO gifts to exchange... However at Christmas we do make a birthday cake for Jesus, something my mom started when my sister and I were little we do it now with our families... I would love other suggestions though! Thanks

This has been such a burden on my heart this year!!! Especially since I've had many, many heartfelt conversations with my friend over the last 6 months who is a devout Jehovah's Witness, and who does not celebrate any holidays at all. I so want to be a consistent testimony to her!!!

Monica, I hope your Thanksgiving was a special one. I made the cute yarn turkey and everyone like him. My littlest kids loved pretendeing to talk to him. It was an simple craft my teen daughter had fun doing with me (that made me happy). I made the pie play dough too but we have not played with it yet. It was pretty on the counter. My hubby said he wished they were real to eat. ha ha. Thank you for the giveaway day. I would really like this book of ideas. It looks full of ways to do just what my heart desires for all days. May God bless us all to know how to make Him the center of our lives. smiles, Angelia in TX

I've never celebrated holidays as a religious thing (I'm a Christian, but we celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus on the first day of each week when we partake of the Lord's Supper). I have been working to take the greed out of Christmas, and to teach our children to focus on the giving instead of the getting though. I would love to see what the author has to say regarding the topic, as I've never given it much thought until recently.
