Orange Pineapple Punch

It has been quite warm here in the Coastal South lately - and while at the grocery store, I spied something which reminded me of a drink my mom used to make when we were little!

It is super easy and we've enjoyed the refreshing coolness of it this week!

Mix one can of frozen orange-pineapple juice concentrate with three juice cans of water. Stir in a can of Sprite and mmmmm, enjoy!

What is keeping you cool during these hot days?

I was just writing my blog yesterday about how hot it was last week and how my Grandma used to stay cool by sitting in the shade sipping ice water from a frosted glass. I need to try that! Lucky for me though... the last couple of days were cooler and today is rainy. Your punch sounds yummy!

I like doing something similiar. I use Country Time Raspberry(or Strawberry)-Lemonade. Make for 2 quarts but only use a little over one quart of water... fill the rest up with gingerale to make a full 2 quart measure.

Throw in a few garden tea leaves. You can even add real fruit of lemon slices and berries.

So good and zingy!!

Mmmm, I haven't had that in ages! I actually looked for Old Orchard OP juice at the store last night, but they don't carry it. With Eric's citrus allergy, I'm less likely to make a punch like that except for a special occasion. Will keep it in mind.

This isn't a sparkling drink, but my mom used to buy the frozen concentrated lemonade and mix it with either grape or cherry juice. I suppose you could add some sparkling water to make it bubbly.

I love a nice cold glass of iced green tea. Regular sweet tea is so common here in the South, but I love green tea too! And it has less caffiene than regular tea and has added health benefits. Yummm!

Mom always had sun tea on hand in the fridge. Once in a while, my mom would let us have a glass of Sprite and she would put a few frozen grapes in to keep it cool. Yummy!

This juice sounds yummy! When we were growing up and had company, mom would had Sprite or 7-up to grape juice and that was our "company" drink. It was a huge treat to us kids because we didn't have pop/soda at home.

My mom used to make that for parties, wedding receptions and such in her crystal punch bowl. So pretty!

We've been drinking lots of peanut butter chocolate banana smoothies lately. And eating plenty of ice cream!

In the Barefoot Contessa cookbook, she has an Herbal Iced Tea recipe that is DELICIOUS. It doesn't have any caffeine and it doesn't need any sugar, the apple juice sweetens it naturally.

4 Celestial Seasonings Lemon Zinger te bags

4 Celestial Seasonings Berry Zinger tea bags

4 cups pure apple juice

Steep the 8 tea bags in 4 cups of boiling water for about 10 minutes. Discard the tea bags. Combine the tea with the apple juice and refrigerate until cold. Serve over ice.

I hope you enjoy this as much as we do. I just had a garden tea party for my daughter's birthday and this was one of the teas I served. It went fast!

I also served a fruit tea that I bought at Bread and Co in Nashville, TN. I have been trying to replicate it, and I can't quite get it. I know that there is mint in it. Has anyone had their fruit tea before? Oh, it makes me swoon!!! I'd love to know how to make it!

Mmmmmmmmmm! That sounds good! I had a delicious banana-pineapple-orange punch once that I tried to duplicate. I just added pureed banana.

Popsicles are all the rage right now. :) And tons of water with ice!

my air conditioning or Crystal Light I got for a steal at Publix with coupons awhile back--speaking of air conditioning---at school when mine is not working, I call the office and tell Doris, "We're hot down here on J hall." Our air is regulated at the district level.

things always taste a little better when they remind you of your childhood, don't they?! how fun you're passing that on to your children.

Sounds yummy!! We are staying inside more. My neighbor even remarked about it, asking if we were okay because he hadn't seen us out the week before. I don't handle the heat well-yuck!! Give me a brisk Fall day anyday.

I love when you remember things like this and share. This will be the perfect summer refresher. (my momma made a punch very close to this one for my birthdays she used pinapple juice, ginerale, and orange sherbert) smiles, Angelia
