White will be cute and you live in the South. The black just doesn't look right.
A different white top. The white ruffles seem to detract from the sweater. If you want to add something closer to your face, perhaps a necklace or pin.
I like the white also. It's cheery!
I tried to vote and it won't let me so I vote for the red and white. It looks adorable and I love the ruffles! =0)
White...the black is too heavy for such a light skirt. :)
I liket the white!
I would choose the white.
White, white, white. I like the ruffles. I don't like the black with the skirt.
I like the look of the white shirt with the skirt. Very cute!
white all the way!
I like the white with it, but I agree with the comment that the ruffles are too much with that sweater. Love the skirt!
agree w/ number 2, white but something w/o the ruffles.
The white looks better...the black doesn't go. Very cute outfit by the way! Love the sweater and skirt!
I just looked again...the ruffles on the shirt do detract from the sweater...do you have a plain white shirt?
I'm for the white as well!
DIL is a photographer and recommends something solid and not frilly or busy. Also, something that is a bit tailored - perhaps you have a blouse in some lovely color? Is there a top you wear that people ALWAYS comment on how pretty your eyes are? That's the one to wear. Good luck!
I tried to vote for the white but it says I cannot vote repeatedly. LOL. I never did! But then I saw that the white is polling at 100% so I guess it is unanimous...so far: )
I like the red sweater with a white top, but I think you need a plain white top...no ruffles. I think the ruffles are too busy with that pretty sweater. I love that skirt by the way. I wish I could sew! :-)
I say white, but a different white top. I think there is too much ruffles going on with the white shirt and the red sweater that also has ruffles. If you have a white blouse or top with a simple neckline then the red ruffled sweater will look fine.
The white will go with the skirt better then the black but the ruffles is competing with the sweater too much. Either switch to a different white (or cream, hard to tell from the picture) or switch to a ruffle less sweater. A string of pearl will be nice, too, if the top is ruffle less. :)
I voted white, the black makes it too much somehow...
I like the white but it might be just a bit to many ruffles. Perhaps a white shirt with no ruffles or a red sweater with no ruffles.
It wont let me vote (says I have voted repeatedly?)I say white. The ruffles of the top go lovely with the sweater (or cardigan as we say here in the UK).If you leave the sweater open, the ruffles will shower down to your skirt and look lovely. If you want your sweater buttoned - go with the black, I think it could be too fussy otherwise. You will look beautiful whatever you wear, don't worry.
A 3/4 sleeve white top with a cute neckline would be cute, too!
I was unable to vote... it said I had already voted. Anyway, I vote for the red & white.
White for sure!!
WHITE!!!! Hands down!
red and white
Adorable outfit! I like the white much better than the black...Amy in Texas
I like the red/white combo, but not that particular white shirt. The ruffle fights for attention against the red rippling trim. That skirt is adorable!
I like the white. :-)
I like a white top, but maybe another one that didn't have ruffles since the sweater also has a ruffle. :)
I love the white and red look. I think it will make you look festive. Have a great time.
Cute skirt and sweater! I like the white top on the hanger -- but what looks the best on you? Love you, Mom
I love the white!!!
I going against the grain here... But I like both colors. If you don't have a white shirt without the ruffles, then I thing the black would look great. I can't tell if the skirt is folded on a hanger, but I'm guessing it's longer that what it looks like in the picture. In the picture, the shirts hang down beneath the sweater makes it look like you're wearing a mini skirt. In the picture, the black seems to "cut off" the skirt. I'm thinking that the skirt is actually longer than picutred, so I think the black would look fine...really nice...probably a little more formal. The white would look more casual.
the white gets my vote!
I like the white!
I actually like both. I think it will depend on what the other members of your family are wearing. I always think a contrast on tops is nice so that y'all don't blend together.
I love the ruffles on the white shirt!! I LOVE that cardigan so much, too!!I am teetering on the black or white. I think maybe black if you wore black tights and tall black boots. I know that's not much help, huh??Elise
White keeps it fun, the darker makes you svelte--I think it depends upon the mood you're in that day! (grin) I'm not much help, am I?
I must be a rare kind because I like the black. Maybe its just because of the ruffles on the white?
White, but it depends on the others too!
I like the one with the white top. Way too cute!!
I vote for a different white shirt, too. I like the white, but the ruffles on ruffles is a bit much. :)
Def. the white!! But I'm with the others...one with a plain neckline, if you have! Have fun!
I vote for the red and white. If you have a plain white top that would be nice, but the ruffled one is cute too. I go with your Mom's point, though. Which one do you feel better in?
absolutely the white top looks gorgeous
Hey, for all who vote - we get a picture of the end CHOICE result, right? Will you be sitting or standing? - Will you even be able to see the skirt much? Will you have someone on your lap or in front of you? Just all things to consider... Both look nice, black or white. Feel good (comfortable), Smile and be relaxed... is all that matters. You're certainly making quite the memory of this years Christmas Picture - before it happens... cute!
I like the idea of a more fitted (tailored) top to go with such a CUTE skirt! Either white or red solid. It is hard to imagine how the sweater fits you, but it appears so much bigger than the skirt. Maybe that is just an illusion. If it fits with shape, then it is great! I like the red. I agree with the idea of wearing a top that makes you feel great & that you have compliments on. If you aren't sure, it's a no. I have to remind myself that all the time. When I have to ask, it usually means I shouldn't be wearing it. Watch for your husband's reaction. What does he think? (I know, he might say you look great in anything, which is great, but also why you are asking us instead. Ha ha!).
White looks best I think!
I like the white. Very pretty outfit. :)
I agree with Anonymouse- the white ruffled top takes away from your lovely hand crafted skirt. I would stick with white but a different piece- like a nice white camisole. Simple and definitely reusable in anyone's wardrobe.
White top with that skirt, but the sweater may be a little much (although, using a white shirt without ruffles may fix that). If you have a digital camera, it may be a good idea to have someone take a picture of you in the outfit you're thinking of wearing so you can see how it looks on camera beforehand. The sweater looks like it may add too much bulk, but I may be wrong. I'm sure you'll look great in whatever you choose!
A white top. Love the skirt.
I would totally go with white :)
White, the black looks to heavy.
I love the sweater! I would choose white, but a simple white Tshirt. The ruffles on the white compete with the ruffled sweater. The simple neck of the black looks great with the ruffled sweater and 'curli-ness' of the skirt's pattern, but the black color doesn't work as well with the skirt. With that said, the skirt in a black and white damask with the black shirt and red cardigan would be a gorgeous combo. Feel like making another skirt? ;-)
white for sure, that's really pretty!
