Our Weekend: Celebrating

This past weekend, we also celebrated David's birthday! Since it was on a Sunday - he was off work! We enjoyed the day together as a family and I made a big dinner!

Here was our menu:

BBQ Brisket
Ribs
Baked Beans
Caesar Salad
Cheese Muffins
Butterfinger Ice Cream Cake

Everything was very yummy with the exception of the cake - it just wasn't anything exciting and I don't plan to make it again! However, this was the alternative: David is always teasing the girls that we are having snails for dinner or are going to Snail Palace to eat or something like that. So, we sort of made him believe that we were going to give him a snail birthday party! I would've made these and of course, this cake. We'll just be glad that I wasn't feeling too inspired on that idea!

"No one here likes Cki-Fil-A (Ckic-Fay)! Off to Snail Palace we go!"
I must say that I really have grown found of hearing the girls scream, "Nooooooo! We don't like snails!"

And I am sooooooooooo glad you did not have as much fun with me as I do with ya'll. That cake looks pretty revolting. Heh. But, I am sure that I would deserve it! Thank you for such awesome birthdays.

Aw, sorry to hear the cake didn't taste as you had hoped it would. It sure looks like it tastes yummy.
Happy Belated Birthday to your hubby!

Wow. Those "Snail Snacks" kind of scared me. They looked too real. Looks like you put together a very nice birthday celebration for your hubby.
