An Adventure in Odyssey

We were excited for an opportunity to met Amy and her sweet Isabelle up at Focus on the Family and enjoy the Whit's End/Odyssey area! If you are ever in Colorado Springs, their visitor center is definitely worth making time for! It would be especially neat if your children were already familiar with Odyssey and the radio programs as mine are a bit young for this still!

First, hop aboard the Imagination Station elevator and transport yourself to the land of Odyssey!
The entire downstairs is decorated like Odyssey - it is so neat!

There is a fun airplane that you can climb in and it leads to a tunnel that comes out in another part of Odyssey!

Toddler soft play room:

Puppet theatre and puppets:

A wall of Odyssey charachters without faces so you can pose as your favorite!

A fun reading area:

A stage and costumes ~ older visitors can enjoy script books and sound effects as well!

We finished up our visit by eating lunch at Whit's End soda fountain!

How neat! I've always been an Odyssey fan (have you ever heard the one where Connie and Eugene are there for Jesus' birth- be prepared to cry your eyes out- VERY moving. I think its called Back to Bethlehem.)and while we'll probably never get out there to see it, I'll tuck this one away as a just in case idea.

oh how fun! We enjoy listening to Odyssey...especially while in the car driving somewhere (that way there are no distractions)!
That looks like such a fantastic and fun adventure to explore! Thanks so much for sharing it with us. I wasn't even aware they had a place like that! :)

What a fun visit!

Your kids are getting close to enjoying Adventures in Odyssey. I've found that the Bible stories are age appropriate for little ones (I think we started at 4-5), but the character stories seem to be aimed more at the older children.

We have enjoyed borrowing the books-on-CD/tape from the library for car trips!

We drove by there last spring and thought our boys were a little young (1 1/2 & 6 months). I have family that lives in Denver so it would be great to stop by there the next time we visit. Looks like a LOT of fun!!

How neat that you could take your little girls here. My husband and I went to Focus On The Family and Whit's End on our honeymoon. My kids think that they got cheated since they weren't around to enjoy it. :) We keep telling them "someday, someday."

Monica- we went to Focus this summer- our family are HUGE Odyssey fans- we even got to record our own episode! So amazing and fun. Truly one of the best days we have ever had as a family.

Wow - that is really cool. I had no idea that was available. My kids will be envious (even the teens!) and I can already hear them planning our next vacation! We still love Odyssey. Glad you had fun!

Wow, that looks like a lot of fun. We have listened to every episode of Odyssey that the Bible bookstore has on their shelf. We own almost all of the albums. My 4 year old daughter is just starting to get interested in listening to them also. It is a really great thing for kids to listen to since it teaches so many Bible truths.

Don't know if you've ever heard of Down Gilead Lane or not but they are pretty good too, but we still think the Odyssey programs are the best though.
