Christmas Fun: Week One

Decorating the tree!

Putting the angel on top!

Trying in vain to get a picture of all three before church, cute of Rachel!

Oooh - look what I discovered!

Christmas train at the mall!

Train from above.

Rachel riding the carousel ~

~ and Emily!

Yummy!

Hi Mama - I want to touch your face!

A Christmas tea party!

We had really wanted to take Emily to see The Nutcracker this year, but after learning it would be $75 for the three of us to go - we opted to check out a copy of it from the library and have been enjoying it at home!

Yesterday, we went to a friends and did Christmas crafting!

What Christmas-y things have you been up to this week?

I love the picture of Rachel before church. Christmas activities here are the Women's Christmas Dinner at my house tonight for my church and the town Christmas parade tomorrow.

Looks like such a fun week that your kids totally enjoyed! :)
So far....we haven't been doing much Christmas things. Chris has been super busy at the meat market his dad owns (deer season)...so we don't have a tree yet, so i haven't pulled out all our decorations etc yet! I have been thinking, though, about calling the salvation army and offering to ring bells outside. I know they need bell ringers. I am not sure if they allow kids to be with me or not? :)

Lots of crafting, Christmas tea, decorating this weekend, baking soon.....it is all so fun! This year I wish we had a few more weeks of December to enjoy the celebration!
The pictures of the kids were darling!

What darling children! :) Looks like you have all had great fun. :)
Most of the Christmas-y things I've been doing are preparing for the fun to come when you are here!

Our church is presenting Handel's Messiah this Sunday evening -- I'm hoping to attend. Love you, Mom

We are going to be decorating tonight, we got the tree last Saturday, but my dad ended up in the hospital. So Christmas decorating will commence tonight!!! I have also been starting on making some Christmas gifts! I love making gifts for people! It's like when you gave someone a gift when you were a child. Something that you made and were SO excited about, you couldn't wait 'till they opened it. That is what a homemade gift still is for me!

Adorable pictures, thanks!

Samuel sure is growing fast, isn't he!

Hugs to you all and Many Blessings!

(sorry to say, Christmas has snuck up on me this year, way behind!)

Looks like you have been doing some fun things with your children. I just love how my older children have shared some of thier favorite traditions that we do. Nutcrackers are some times put on my local high schools or jr highs. You might check around your area. Or even a local dance studio. It would cost a lot less for you to go. It is just a thought.

Good Morning, Monica! Aww...your kids are so cute! We've done most of our decorating, baked some gingerbread, I attended a women's Christmas Tea :), and we hope to make some applesauce ornaments today! I am also in the planning stages of my Christmas letter! Do you do a Christmas letter or cards/photos? I am trying to find ideas and streamline things a bit...this is always a bit overwhelming every year! Have you found any easy, nice ideas for this?
Thanks for sharing your week! Looks like it was fun! :-)

Here in Atlanta they are doing a homeschool day at the Fox for the Nutcracker. It is a shorten version and tickets were less than $10 a piece. I wonder if they would be doing such a thing in Columbia??

We've been sick for two weeks at my house, so we haven't even put up the tree yet! We are on the mend though, so I am trying to catch up on some housework now, and the decorations will hopefully go up next Monday or Tuesday. We have driven around our park several times to look at the lights though! Now that we're getting better we should be able to walk around it soon :-)

We are reading Jotham's Journey, have decorated our tree, have started baking a few special treats and will be making some for friends this weekend, and hope to go to Bethlehem Blessings at the Creation Museum!

It is all adorable. What fun! We're decorating and decorating right now and making some gifts. I'll post pics when we finish.

If you have a moment, I have tagged you, it's a fun and festive Christmas one.

We spent last night making mulled wine (we were out of cider and tea), listened to carols, ate cookies, and put up our very first tree!

It's pretty bare, but we have an entire lifetime to fill it!

Oh, it looks like you all have had so much fun! It never fails, when you get your kids all dressed up, it's impossible to get a good picture of all of them together!
Your Christmas Tea Party looks so cute and fun.
Blessings!

I must make a confession - I have been following your blog for quite some time and not left a comment! I have admitted to my husband that I feel so guilty that I seem to know so much about you and you don't even know I am here! Anyway, I am finally stopping by to say hello and that I enjoy seeing all that you do - you are inspirational and your children are beautiful!
