A Handcrafted Christmas: Grocery Bag Holder

A friend of mine mentioned that she would like to have a grocery bag holder - so I decided to see if I could find some directions on making one! I had all the supplies on hand already - so did not spend anything to make this!

I found this tutorial and the whole thing only took about 30 minutes! A quick and easy gift!

Another note: is anyone interested in me hosting a showcase where everyone can share the gifts they've been working on? Please leave your interest in the comments so I can decide if we should do this!

I've been enjoying this series. Another option for the bag holder is using a cotton tea towel. I had an extra that matched my kitchen-it was quick and easy and looks really cute!

I like the idea of sharing our Christmas crafts/gifts but all my family reads my blog, so I really can't share much!;-)

Love the fabric. I like the idea of sharing gifts, but like Mary Ann, a lot of my family reads my blog too so I won't be able to show too much, but would love to share what I can.

I wish I had some skills to make one of these. We were at a fair the other day and my husband wanted to buy one, saying that we "needed" it, lol!

I don't think I've ever commented on your blog, but I've been reading it for a few months now. I love all your craft ideas and have been inspired to make some more of my own. In fact, I'm planning on making the sock monkeys for my nieces and nephew. :-) I do like the idea of sharing what we've been making. :-)

I love it. I have one in Lukes room already but I need to make another for my pantry. My plastic bags are taking over. I love Mary Ann's Idea of using a dish towel.

I made my mom a button pin last night I could take a picture of. :)

I'm trying to make all of the gifts this year for the kiddos and ladies in my life. I have so many pieces of spare fabric that would be perfect for this. I think this would be a great aunts gift. Thanks for the idea!

My mom makes these. They are very handy. We have one in the pantry, one upstairs, and one in the garage. So convenient because there are so many uses for left over plastic bags. :)

Oh how funny! I just started a meme at my blog about homemade gifts - it's called A Homemade Christmas! It occurs every Thursday until January 1st. I'd love it if you'd join me (if you don't have the time to do your own)!

Grocery bag holders come in very handy! We used to have one, that my aunt made for us.

Your crafts are very inspirational, thank you for sharing about them and taking the time to do it!

May God bless you!

This funny, I was going to look for instructions to make one for my kitchen this weekend. As my bags are driving me crazy with no where to store them. you saved me the need to research. Yours is cute. Like you I have all the stuff to make it.

Monica,
Just wanted to say how much I love your blog. It is the first thing I read in the morning and am always uplifted by your cheerful spirit by how you are "handcrafting your Christmas" down to organizing such fun, educational, and sweet days for your children (like the bunny days!). I know something you like to talk about/encourage is hospitality and it really shines through--even thousands of miles away on a website!!

PS--as for sharing handcrafted christmas--I'd love to--there could just be a flickr group (so as family who read blogs don't see tehir gifts beforehand!)

yes this is very practical, my sister made one that is very similar in shape for my mom/ our family for christmas last year and we use it all the time to keep the bags inside of.

If you make it a little longer you could make a draft stopper for a door. I need to make those myself.
