Checking In...

Hi Friends!

We are back safely from our weekend at the beach - it was a great time to be together and relax and rest!

However, we are faced with a possible evacuation for Hurricane Hannah - since my hubby can't leave due to being law enforcement and with three littles, I would leave earlier than a mandatory evacuation so that I'm not sitting on the interstate with my car off to conserve gas and no air conditioning!!

We'd rather be safe than sorry, so the plan right now is to leave tomorrow afternoon - it may be undue, but like I said, we're erring on the side of safety and getting ahead of traffic.

My Handmade Christmas post is scheduled for Thursday as planned - but I just don't know that I'll be posting at all the rest of this week.

If it comes to mind, right now - I would appreciate prayer for wisdom on if and when to leave, that our little ones would be as cooperative and understanding as possible through this and that above all - we would be safe in His care.

Looking forward to being back here regularly soon - I'll post and update when I can!

PS: My e-mail is kind of full, and I apologize to those of you I haven't responded to! I will be taking my lap top and providing a wireless signal being available, will try to catch up this week! Thanks for understanding!

Oh of course I will pray and I'll mention it on my blog too.
I know others are already praying for everyone in harms way.
But putting a specific need out there is how we can lift each other up.
I will pray for you, your family, your husbands and the others that remain and take care of everything. Sometimes we forget.
Thanks for reminding and sharing.
Blessings,
Sherry

I will keep you in prayer. My husband also works in the same line of business and we've had to evacuate with a 10 day old and bad c-section. It's better to be safe than sorry. That's what emergency funds are for. I think we are actually going to make it little Hurricane fund! Be safe and listen to the Holy Spirit. He will lead you all. Julie

There is no such thing as being too careful when it involves your family. My inlaws went through Hugo almost 20 years ago and they said they would never sit through anonther one. So safe travels and prayers for you, the girls and your husband.

Having been through many tropical storms and hurricanes myself, I think that you're doing the wise thing to plan ahead. Praying that Hanna will head back out into the ocean! :)

I think you are very wise to get a head start. I pray for safe travels children for you, Emily, Rachel, and Samuel. I pray that God will protect you all and keep you safe from harm, as well as watching over David as he stays behind to do his job. Boy, do we appreciate all the men/women who stay behind to help keep us all safe from harm. Big hugs, Susan P.

Monica -

You are absolutely in my prayers. We actually haven't totally ruled out leaving. We will probably be feeling some of the effects here on Friday sometime, but it seems that again Savannah will be spared the worst, based on the latest information. Be safe and let us know all is well.

Be safe dear! My husband is in the same line of work so I know how you must feel, leaving him behind. Get out while it's still safe. We don't have those kind of storms here but we do get blizzards and when we lose power, it's really cold so stay warm, safe and dry. My prayers are with both you and your husband (as well as the kids)

Praying that it won't be bad for all of you. Praying that it will not be a bad storm.

well I wish I would tell you to come up here but then that wouldn't be smart since we may be in the same situation. Many prayers for you my friend and please do the same for us.

I know you guys decided not to evacuate, but you really should... With three little kids, and the assumption that you'll be alone, you should at least go somewhere else with other people. If something happens to your house or to you during the storm, what will your girls do?

Better safe than sorry

Yikes! I just read this. I'm so glad that you're family is safe now.

I'm from California, but I attended college in South Carolina for 5 years. I remember that kind of weather...very strange when the sky turned green! After living through that, I decided that I'd take our earthquakes over that any day!
