A Handcrafted Christmas

I've been busy crafting for the past couple of months getting ready for Christmas! And, I'm excited to share the ideas here in the coming weeks! I'll share one idea each Thursday during September and October. Oooh - I'm getting excited!

At the end of this series, I'd like to host a showcase for all of the crafting you've done! You can submit photos of your crafts or links to your post showing what you've crafted for Christmas this year. Details will come closer to the time.

Anyone else doing Christmas gift crafting?

I am so excited to see what you have been up to. I have been crafting, although not as much as I would like. Which I am sure you completely understand.

I'm so excited for this series also. I love to craft but don't have much time to search out ideas!

I guess it gives me one week to do the recipe book:-)

Add me to the list that's eager to read your ideas! We will definitely be doing a handmade Christmas again this year.
My husband is going back to school this fall, so this is great timing!

I am part of an ornament exchange. We have a group of 9 ladies and every year each of us has to make an ornament for everyone in the group. It is very secretive. Then we have a party the first week in Dec. and bring our ornaments in boxes or baskets covered. We have food and fellowship and then the BIG REVEAL. It is so much fun. We had our 10th exchange last year. So over the years I have accumulated 90 hand made ornaments. I am always looking for good ideas so I am looking forward to this series.
Thanks,
Stephanie

I purchased blank calendars as I always do at this time of year. They will get filled with a picture of the month for the grandparents and for our family. I am encouraged to get started on these NOW. But I need plenty of ideas for the rest of our gift giving list.
I like to include one handmade gift for each person I give to. (No that doesn't mean that all of my gifts are handmade.) It may be as simple as a homemade sweet bread placed in a mini
stocking.
Can't wait to see what you have up your crafting sleeve. Angie

I can not wait to see your creations!!!

A few years back I did custom clocks for my family. Total cost was under $5 each :)

I need to, that's for sure. I'd certainly like to. Inspire me, please, Monica!

You're so creative! Can't wait to see what you've thought up for Christmas.

My husband is in medical school, so I need to make gifts this year, for sure! I was thinking of making an apron for all of the ladies and girls in my family.

I meant aprons (plural)...not one for all of them to share! :)

I'm looking forward to this, Monica! You always have the best ideas, and I appreciate the heart behind them. I try to make gifts every year, because it helps with our budget, and because I feel homemade gifts are more special.

This is a very timely post! I was just making a mental list of what Christmas gifts to get this year and I was moved to make them myself! I can't wait to see everyone's ideas!

YES! because of you!! ;) I'm making gratitude journals for a few close friends and I'm making a game that we LOVE to play for all my family folks. We're trying to do something home made for everyone instead of last minute buying junk. I'm so excited!

I am looking forward to this! I love crafting too. I will soon be making things for Christmas gifts with my children to give others. We have a lot of great ideas but need to find time to make these things. I Spy bottles to individual pies in a jar to homemade cards stacked and ties. With homeschooling, I hope to find time each week for use to make some things. I never seem to have enough time. I so look forward to your ideas and hope we too will make some of the things!
Merry Christmas! :)

I always enjoy your ideas Monica and am looking forward to this :) So far I have all of my canning gifts done (jams, jellies, vinegars), made some salt rubs and baking spice mixes and am working on the last of three shawls. I will be starting ornaments in a couple of days. I love getting a head start! Thanks for having such being such a blessing :)
