Family Night: Beach

Last Friday, for Family Night we decided to head to our local beach. I am ashamed to say Rachel had never been there - and we live so close! Yes, she had been to a beach - but it was when we were traveling out of town. And, in our defense - every time we have taken our little ladies to a beach, they have not had fun. They didn't want to play in water or dig in the sand. This time was very different - they had a ball and did not want to leave!

We played in the water, played in the sand, collected shells, had a picnic supper and I even got a little reading in! It was a very fun and successful Family Night idea! We now have a pass good for one year - so we promised them we'd go back soon!

Samuel was a trooper and hung out in his car seat watching us all have a lot of fun!

Rachel enjoys the water...

... and a stick!

Emily had fun jumping!
And splashing!All the girls...
Mama and Emily!
Rachel enjoyed sitting at the edge of the water and letting the waves come to her!
Ok, they just had fun all around!
Tomorrow - a summer idea using the shells we picked up!

Is it a good book?? What is it about?? I wondered if you'd maybe share about good books you've read in the past other than Mitford (since I know these) and maybe write some posts about them...just an idea.

Great photos!!!

I am not a beach person at all...and I grew up in Florida!

But...I don't mind a midnight stroll along the beach.

Glad you got some reading in!

Last year alone I bought over 60+ books and am now only on number 5! That's sad...lol. But I am getting there!

Blessings to you and your family for a glorious week!

That looks like so much fun! Our closest beach is about forty-five minutes away and I haven't taken Emily yet. We are going to try to do that this summer.

Wonderful pictures of you all!

What funny timing - we were thinking about heading to our local beach today. You've inspired me further with your itinerary and pictures.

I have been looking for a modest bathing suit. Where did you get yours?

Monica,
It looks like everyone had a great time. How nice that you could even get some time to read. I love reading.
I hope you don't mind me asking, "Where did you get your bathing suit?" I love it. I love the skirt and top. Is it one piece? I have such a hard time finding a modest suit that I am comfortable wearing.
Thank you,
Ruth

I LOVE your suit! Let's just say that after 7 kids, more coverage = fewer beachcombers going blind.

Where'd you get it? And, is it a two piece (and there for nursing friendly?)

How fun!! I'm with the others, where did you get your suit? Love the skirt part, especially. And Rachel's suit is darling.

How did you get so skinny so quickly after baby three? Seriously! I would love to know if you have any post-baby weight loss tips!
Thanks!

Man oh man. South Carolina? Looks gorgeous! What a great family night.

I have found the beach is the best place for little ones. Kids can play, sleep, and dad can be in charge while you read. So ideal.

I'm guessing Land's End? I have the same skirt (black) but my top is different than yours.
