Christmas Blocks

This is a simple idea and one I've seen lots of times, but I thought I'd share it anyway since this is my first year actually doing it!

My Grandma gave me some blocks that used to belong to my Mom and her sisters. I have them in the toy box for my girls to play with - but rummaged through to spell these words at this time of year. I love how they look and the messages they bring into my home!

Thanks for showing these, Monica! I love the "behold" one. I hadn't thought of using these at Christmas, but we have "Nathan" spelled out on his bookshelf.

Hope you're feeling better--can't wait to hear about your weekend.

Thanks for sharing this idea! I too love the "behold" one....Though I have seen these many times I hadn't thought of making them myself out of wooden blocks that I have here....I'm going to do this today!

Blessings,
Liisa

The "Behold" one is my favorite too. Maybe because you don't ever see that word spelled out most places. It really brings my attention to the real meaning of Christmas!

What a pretty idea! I also am in love with the idea of "Behold". I also couldn't help but notice the sign behind the behold blocks, I think it said "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord" May I ask where did you get such a pretty sign?

How fun! :-)

Mrs. Hurzeler - I love that sign - it is one of my very favorite things in our home! My Mom got it for me at a shop in Colorado Springs called The Gatherings. My sister has one as well. I did a quick Google search hoping to find something similar for you - but it would take some more digging, I didn't see anything right off. You obviously have good taste to notice it! :)

I have to agree with the other ladies - I love the "Behold" blocks. They, of course, make you think of the words that follow. Maybe I'll make a banner with those words...

Thank you again for always sharing your wonderful and creative ideas.

Monica, love the blocks -- they are definitely vintage! :) Very easy and simple idea which could be used for all kinds of things! (I may get out my Scrabble letters and do something similar!) Love, Mom

Hey Monica:

YAY!! I think I'm "back in business". I hope this comment will go through! I spent over an hour on the phone this morning with AT&T Yahoo. I couldn't get signed into my e-mail. It took them FOREVER to fix the problem (which was on their end!!)but hopefully I'm good now.

So glad to see you are putting those old blocks to good use! I'm glad you have them. I agree with all the others. The BEHOLD one is unique & thought-provoking.
Good Job!!

Love, Grandma
