Touches of Fall

Aside from all the Fall recipes I've been trying, it has also been fun to bring out some of my Fall decorations! Here are some I don't think I've shared before:

A wire basket that says, "Happy Harvest" is filled with small pumpkins and an old baking powder can with a flower arrangement in it!

These mason jar lights are on each side. Just fill each jar about half full with unpopped popcorn and place a small glass flower pot and candle in the top! I loved this idea shared last Fall by The Sparrows Nest. These would also make a lovely hostess gift this time of year!

Here's my chalkboard plate bearing the words, "Autumn Blessings" ~ a small pumpkin and darling wooden candy corn (thanks Carrie!) make a great accent!

I love how candles look on windowsills - I just think they sparkle and glow a little more! This is another canning jar idea using the mini pumpkin fillers available at Michael's or Wal-Mart. Again, a glass flowerpot and candle sit nicely in the top. Note: you cannot use a wide mouth jar for this idea!

This is my newest Fall decoration. The banner says, "Be Thankful" ~ I found these tags at a vintage store last weekend and bought the letters I needed to spell these words! I tied the letters to twine with a small pumpkin as the word divider. I've had the wooden pumpkins hanging in the middle for a long time and they are a fun reminder of my favorite craft sale. The corn husks are from an Iowa corn field (thanks Carrie!) and the pilgrims are some my mother-in-law was getting rid of.

My sister gave me this a few years ago and I love it so much I leave it up year-round! This verse is perfect for this time of year ~

"The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the Word of our God stands forever."
Isaiah 40:8

Monica, you have really gotten me in the mood to bring out my fall decorations! I love your chalkboard plate idea ~ just darling! Your mantle is so cozy and inviting I can just imagine sitting close by and sipping a cup of hot cocoa next to a warm fire.

I love the mason jar candle idea. I have a ton of jars and tea lights...now on to the fillers. I think I will dry some cranberries and use them as a filler. Great ideas!!!

Mo,

I wish I could see all of this in person. =(

Didn't realize I'd given you several fall things over the years--fun to see them adding to the homey feel of your darling house.

I can't wait to use my little pumpkin "potpourri" in that candle thing from GG. I plan to post my fall decor pix next week.

HI Monica! I LOVE your blog and have been reading it for months, but I have not taken the time to stop by and say WOW yet!! I love your fall ideas, and the Bible verse is one of my favourites!

Off to dust off the Mason jars.. do they sell the smaller candle holders that you put on top at Michael's?
Blessings,
Ellie

I like the decorations a lot. I have done the mason jar/candles with potpourri in them. I can get corn shucks right across the road! I'm going to decorate my mantle this weekend. You've inspired me to get moving. After all this is my FAVORITE season! Thanks a bunch!

Ellie! Thanks and welcome! :) You can get those glass flower pots at Michael's - they sometimes put them on sale for 3/$1, but I think they are regularly 79 cents or so. They sometimes have them at Wal-Mart also, though I'm not sure of the price there.

I love the candle idea. It's to warm here to think about fall yet. I'm trying to hold onto summer for as long as I can!

Everything looks beautiful.
